[it takes a while for Maya to work up the strength to come deal with Beatrice; it's not until well into the day that she goes to find her, and by then, no one else seems to be around. she brings some food and drink from the cafe, but doesn't really expect Beato to have much interest in consuming it. she places it next to Beato anyway, and kneels down beside her with a sad smile, voice quiet]

...You really don't want to live anymore, do you.

...I think someone's gonna kill Kay for the hotel pass, so I wanna make a bid for it myself. But I know it has to be something really dangerous to be considered, and I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad if it was someone who didn't mind getting hurt, so...I thought I'd ask you if you would help. Uh, either with a plan, or, um, as a victim. ...Which I know is pretty weird to ask, and kind of a jerk move now that I'm actually saying it! But...in a roundabout way that I can't really talk about right now, I think I can help you--and maybe a lot of people--if I can pull this all off.

I know this is coming out of nowhere, and it's pretty rude. And maybe I read you completely wrong! I understand if you want me to get lost. Just...I figured I'd ask, so I could know for sure.

I want to save a life. The pass is just a bonus. Though I guess that'd save a life, too.

It's not like-- I don't wanna hurt you, much less... I'm sorry, this was stupid. I just don't know what to do.
